[...] Star Trek (2009) – Out with the old and in with the new, as director J.J. Abrams rolls out this sci-fi blockbuster that tells how the crew of the USS Enterprise first came together. The highest-grossing film in the entire franchise, it stars Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, and Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy. Eric Bana serves as the villain in the form of a vengeful time-traveling Romulan, and other familiar faces include Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Winona Ryder, and Leonard Nimoy.
[...] Star Trek (2009) – Off all the JJ Abrams movies ever released, none have received more attention from the media and general public than this reboot of the Star Trek franchise. When a time-traveling Romulan (Eric Bana) seeks payback for the destruction of his home planet, cadets from Star Fleet must head out in the USS Enterprise to save the day. Chris Pine takes over the role of Captain Kirk, and Zachary Quinto makes an adequate replacement for Leonard Nimoy as Spock (Nimoy also stars as the Spock from the future). Other members of the crew include Dr. McCoy (Karl Urban), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Sulu (John Cho), and Chekov (Anton Yelchin). As for JJ Abrams, he served as both producer and director. [...]

[...] Star Trek – When J.J. Abrams relaunched the Star Trek franchise, it was high time some fresh ideas were added into the mix. The cast is young and full of energy, and you get the idea the whole Star Trek universe has a new spark of life. After Gene Roddenberry died, his successors have done their best to destroy the franchise with their lack of imagination and inability to take chances, but the new Star Trek franchise gives me big hope that’s in the past. Ignore a few obvious plot flaws in this film and you should come away with two hours of pure entertainment. [...]

[...] Star Trek (2009) – J.J. Abrams reboots the Star Trek franchise in a big way, giving us younger faces, bigger explosions, and an overall product that doesn’t feel anything like an extended television episode. Chris Pine stars as James T. Kirk, a rebellious youth who joins Star Fleet Academy and must soon face the wrath of a Romulan from the future named Nero (Eric Bana), who also happens to be responsible for the death of Kirk’s father. Other cast members include Zachary Quinto (Spock), Karl Urban (Dr. McCoy), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Simon Pegg (Scotty), John Cho (Sulu), Anton Yelchin (Chekov), and Leonard Nimoy as the Spock from the future.
