Hotel Rwanda (2005)
By Shane Rivers
An ordinary hotel manager strives to save the lives of innocents as a large-scale genocide hits Rwanda, going virtually unnoticed by the rest of the globe.
To know this is based on a true story is both amazing and frightening. Don Cheadle gives another stellar performance as Paul, a regular guy who gets caught up in extraordinary events. Sophie Okonedo also gives a wonderful performance as his tormented wife. Both were nominated for Academy Awards and Hotel Rwanda was nominated for Best Screenplay.
A dramatic and thought inducing picture that deserves to be seen.
Directed by Terry George.
