Bad Movie Reviews
From time to time, I like to turn off my brain and read some bad movie reviews. I’m not talking about poorly-written film reviews, but rather those that focus on crappy cinema. While the reviews often provide a humorous read, the actual movies being discussed will blow your mind if you have the guts to rent them.
Badmovies.org – Their slogan claims that they’re “a website to the detriment of good film.” That’s because they offer bad movie reviews for everything from Puppet Master 4 to Babes in Toyland. Reader reviews are accepted, and the site includes interviews with such schlock cinema stars as Fred Olen Ray and Rick Sloane (of Hobgoblins fame).
Jabootu’s Bad Movie Dimension – Some of the worst movies ever made are featured here, including Battlefield Earth, Abe Lincoln Freedom Fighter (yes, really) and Fair Game. A forum is also provided, allowing you to discuss bad films until your heart’s content.
It’s a Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad Movie – This site uses the turkey scale, with one turkey being the worst. All the films are considered to be stinkers by the site’s author, but some have that cheesy appeal that certain moviegoers look for (such as folks who enjoy Mystery Science Theatre). Reviews include films such as Yor, the Hunter from the Future and Billy the Kid vs. Dracula.
Bad Movie Night – Three pals gets together, watch bad movies, and then share their thoughts on this site. Readers are also invited to share their own reviews, and you can even take part in a quiz game revolving around quotes from Kevin Smith films. Over 900 reviews are included, such as 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain and 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag.
Bad Movie Realm – From kung fu to sci-fi, this website covers all the genres most frequently associated with bad movies. In addition to their reviews, the site also includes a section called Disasterpiece Theatre. There, you’ll be able to instantly watch such bad movie classics as Santa Conquers the Martians and The Best of Yucca Flats.
Bad Movie Knights – The home page has the faces of William Shatner, Eric Roberts and Jean-Claude Van Damme, so you know you’re in for some seriously bad movies. The top five worst films are kept track of at all times, and these include such embarrassing works as Troll 2 and 2019: After the Fall of New York. In operation since 2006, you can rest assured that Bad Movie Knights is packed full of bad movie reviews.
