1. - 4. Rocky  - (1976, 1979, 1982, 1985, Sylvestor Stallone, Talia Shire, Burt Young, Burgess Meredith) An underdog boxer has a million-to-one shot at the world heavyweight title. Each movie makes you want to stand up and cheer. The original won the Oscar for best picture and best directing (John Avildsen). 
5. The Natural - (1984, Robert Redford, Robert Duvall, Kim Bassinger, Glenn Close) A once promising baseball player restarts his career 15 years after battling the demons of his past. 
6. Raging Bull - (1980, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Cathy Moriarty) The out-of-control life of former middleweight champion Jack LaMotta. Oscar for best actor (De Niro). 
7. Hoosiers - (1987, Gene Hackman, Dennis Hopper) A small-town high school boys basketball team attempts to win the Indiana state championship in 1954. 

8. Karate kid - (1984, Ralph Macchio, Elizabeth Shue, Noriyuki Morita) A teen is tormented by bullies until an elderly Japanese karate master teaches the kid how to defend himself and compete against the thugs in a karate tournament. 

9. Major League - (1989, Tom Berenger, Renee Russo, Charlie Sheen, Corbin Bersen, Wesley Snipes) A baseball team of losers unexpectedly become winners. 
10. Remember the Titans - (2000, Denzel Washington) A white Southern high school is integrated with black students from a nearby school in 1971. Both schools are recognized for their football programs, which are now unified. The black coach is chosen to be the head coach of the integrated team, leaving the previous white head coach with feelings of animosity at having to be an assistant.
